Bringing a signature style of bold stipes, big colors and geometric shapes to her work, Ukrainian industrial and interior designer Daria Zinovatnaya knows how to work a room. After studying at the Architectural Academy where she received a master’s degree, Zinovatnaya began taking commercial projects for a range of clients. The simple forms within her work clash with each other in their unusual arrangements, with the overall effect representing something like contemporary mid-century. Explaining her style, she says, “The base of my work are color and geometry, combination of color planes. Beginning any of my works, I experiment with color, choose palette and then I start to play with colors and objects to find the balance. In the process, inspiration arises.”
